Times tables

Times tables practice, one table at a time.

Pick a table to get its chart, the tricks that make it stick and a free penalty practice game. No timer unless you want one, and no login.

Year 2

Year 2 starts with the tables that count in steps everyone knows.

Year 3

Year 3 adds the tables built from doubling.

Year 4

Year 4 finishes the set, ready for the Multiplication Tables Check.

12 × 12 multiplication square

Find a fact where a row meets a column. Every fact appears twice: 3 × 8 and 8 × 3 are both 24, so there are fewer facts to learn than it looks.

How to practise

Five calm minutes a day beats a long session. Learn one table at a time, start with no timer, and add speed only once most answers are right. Tables build on each other: the 4s are the 2s doubled, the 8s are the 4s doubled.

The Year 4 check

In June of Year 4, children in England take the Multiplication Tables Check: 25 questions from all the tables up to 12 × 12, with 6 seconds for each. Match mode in each practice game uses the same 6 seconds.
